Bangko Pangasinan gets ‘money matters’ lecture from BSP

Banking is a business of money – and knowing about money, or bank notes, should be everyone’s business.

Thanks to a one-day course by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), members of the Association of Pangasinan Rural Bankers (APRub) were able to hone their skills in detecting genuine or forged money bills, as well as the laws concerning the proper handling of government-issued bank notes or bills.

Conducted by the BSP’s currency management sector, the KYM or “know your money” money gave a comprehensive lecture on the design and security features of bank notes and coins and the laws and policies surrounding the monetary system in the country.  This includes the common practice of defacing or drawing marks on money bills – which is prohibited by law.

Bangko Pangasinan – an APRub member – was represented by cashiers and members of the internal audit staff during the workshop held last August 31, 2019 at the Breadhouse Events Place in Dagupan Pangasinan.
